Classic Meatball Sub 🥖
Juicy homemade meatballs simmered in marinara, tucked into a toasted roll and blanketed with bubbling mozzarella.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup Parmesan
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella
- 1 baguette
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp salt

Mince the garlic. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan, half the garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt. Roll into 16 meatballs.

Brown the meatballs in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat, about 6 minutes, turning to color all sides.

Add marinara and remaining garlic, cover, and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes until meatballs reach 160°F inside.

Heat the oven to 400°F. Split the baguette into 4 rolls and toast on a sheet pan for 3 minutes.

Load 4 meatballs and plenty of sauce into each roll and cover with mozzarella.

Bake 5 to 7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling. Serve immediately.
