Bacon Cheeseburgers 🍔
Thick, juicy beef patties stacked with crispy bacon and melted cheddar, the burger everyone orders first.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 8 slices bacon
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 tomato
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 1 red onion
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper

Cook the bacon in a 12-inch skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 8 minutes, then drain on paper towels.

Divide the beef into 4 equal balls and gently shape into patties slightly wider than the buns. Press a small dimple in the center of each and season both sides with salt and pepper.

Heat the skillet over medium-high and cook the patties 4 minutes on the first side without pressing.

Flip, top each patty with a slice of cheddar, and cook 3 to 4 minutes more until the cheese melts and the beef reaches 160°F.

Toast the buns cut side down in the skillet for 1 minute. Slice the tomato and onion.

Spread mayonnaise and ketchup on the buns, then stack lettuce, patty, bacon, tomato, and onion. Serve hot.
