Skillet BBQ Chicken Thighs 🍖
Crispy-skinned chicken thighs lacquered in sticky barbecue sauce, all the cookout flavor without leaving the kitchen.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 8 chicken thigh
- 0.75 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- salt and black pepper

Pat the chicken thighs very dry and season all over with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, and pepper.

Heat the olive oil in a 12-inch cast iron skillet over medium heat. Lay the thighs in skin side down and cook undisturbed for 10 minutes until the skin is deep golden and crisp.

Flip the thighs and cook 8 minutes more until they reach 175°F.

Pour off all but 1 tablespoon of fat, then brush the thighs generously with BBQ sauce.

Cook 2 minutes per side, flipping once, until the sauce is sticky and lightly charred at the edges.

Rest 5 minutes, then serve with the remaining BBQ sauce for dipping.
