Cabbage Roll Casserole 🥬
All the cozy flavor of stuffed cabbage rolls, beef, rice, and sweet tomato sauce, layered and baked with zero rolling.
Ingredients (serves 6)
- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 1 small cabbage
- 1 cup rice
- 1 can canned tomatoes
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp olive oil

Heat oven to 375°F. Brown the ground beef with the diced onion in the olive oil over medium-high heat, about 7 minutes, then stir in the minced garlic and paprika.

Stir in the uncooked rice, canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, 1.5 cups water, 1 teaspoon salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Chop the cabbage into rough 2-inch pieces. Layer half the cabbage in a greased 9x13 dish, pour over half the beef mixture, then repeat.

Cover tightly with foil and bake at 375°F until the rice is tender and the cabbage is silky, about 60 minutes.

Rest 10 minutes covered before serving so the rice absorbs the last of the juices.
