Shrimp with Garlic Sauce 🦐
Plump shrimp tossed in a pungent garlic-soy sauce with hints of heat-quick, elegant, and the ultimate weeknight showstopper.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 1.25 lb shrimp
- 6 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 scallions
- 1 tsp cornstarch

Pat shrimp dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.

Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat. Cook shrimp until pink and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

Reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring often, until very fragrant and just beginning to brown.

Whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, sesame oil, and cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water.

Pour sauce into the skillet and simmer for 1 minute until thickened. Return shrimp and toss to coat.
