Smothered Chicken in Mushroom Gravy 🍗
Tender chicken pieces nestled in a silky mushroom and onion gravy, braised until falling apart, served over creamy mashed potatoes.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 2 lb chicken thighs and drumsticks
- 1 lb mushrooms
- 2 large onions
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons butter

Pat chicken dry and season with salt and pepper. Melt butter in a large pot over medium-high heat.

Brown chicken pieces on both sides, about 10 minutes total. Remove and set aside.

Add mushrooms, onions, and garlic to the pot. Cook until vegetables soften, about 8 minutes.

Pour in chicken stock and Worcestershire. Return chicken to the pot, cover, and simmer for 25 minutes.
